Birthday Card with Handmade flower

Here is a birthday card I made this week for my Mum.  I haven’t made a flower like this for a while so thought I would do one for this card.  The photo doesn’t capture the shine and glitter of my handmade flower, which was covered with glimmer glam.  There are lots of different ideas for how to make flowers like this, so my suggestion is to google it and see what you find :).

Supplies List

Paper Trimmer, Scissors, Double sided tape, Kasiercraft Gem Flourish, Lace, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Distress Inks – Victorian Velvet and Pumice Stone, Foam Blending Tool, Glimmer Glam – Tutti Fruit (pink), Stamps – Penny Black Betsy Bluebell (T for Transparent Set), Paper – Aunthentique 6×6 paper pad, White cardstock, Tweezer set (not sure which brand though), button, We R Memory Keepers Floss – grey.

I cut the patterned paper into a bit of a spiral and curled using my tweezers.  Then I let it unravel and stuck onto a circle shape (to be the base of the flower).  I inked the edges with victorian velvet distress ink and then painted with glimmer glam.  This was put aside to dry.  The patterned papers were trimmed and then inked with the distress inks using the foam blending tool.  I stamped ‘enjoy your day’ onto the patterned paper with tuxedo black ink.  I cut the leaves freehand and then inked with edges.  The card was then assembled as shown in the photograph.  If you have any questions, please leave me a comment and I will reply as best I can.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Until next time,
