Christmas Card with No Stamping

This is a card I made from the Kaisercraft Silly Season Collection.  No stamping required!  This card design is pretty simple, so could be used as is or modified to suit your supplies for making quite a few Christmas cards, especially as there is not many layers of paper.  The card is a bit brighter in real life, sometimes saving the photos for the web means the colour is a little different and this is not the best photo but it is the best one I have since Stef now has this card.

Supplies List

Paper Trimmer, Scissors, Liquid adhesive, Double sided tape, Gems, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Distress Ink – Barn Door and Peeled paint, Foam Blending Tool, Paper – Silly Season Collection, white cardstock, Glimmermist Chalkboard – White, Fiskars Border Punch

I wanted to use the patterned paper with the text on it but as it was white on red it wasn’t quite bright enough for what I wanted so I changed it by using distress ink and my foam blending tool, then sprayed the white chalkboard glimmermist over it  (this gives gorgeous shimmer and slightly toned down the brightness of the red distress ink).  I also splattered it a little by flicking the glimmermist with a paintbrush as well as just the spray.    I left this to dry and cut out the Christmas tree.  To give the tree a little more dimension I inked the edges with green ink.  I trimmed the green patterned paper to size and used the fiskars border punch.  I  also cut the greeting out of the patterned paper.  I then assembled the card and finished it off with a gem at the top of the tree.  The card is flat so it could be easily mailed.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Until next time,
