Winter Marci in Black and White

This is a card I made recently which was my first attempt at colouring an image in black and white.  I was really happy with how it turned out and am quite keen to try out more black and white images.  It really gives the stamps a totally different look.  I can imagine using a black and white colour scheme with a card and just a pop of bright colour ie red.

Supplies List

Paper Trimmer, Scissors, Foam Adhesive, Double sided tape, Black Pearl Flourish, Star brad, Ribbon, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, X-press It blending card, Paper Piercer, Tim Holtz Ruler, Stamps –  La la land stamps – Winter Marci, Hero Arts Clear set – Friends, Paper – Best Creations Patterned Paper, black bazzill cardstock,  Paper Flowers, Tag, White Lace,  Copic Markers C0, C1, C2, C3, C5, C7, C9

Method

I first stamped  ’Winter Marci’ onto blending card using tuxedo black ink and then coloured using the copic markers listed above.   I trimmed the card and punched holes around the edge using my Tim Holtz ruler and a paper piercer.  I layered this on black cardstock.  The patterned paper was trimmed to size and the lace and ribbon adhered as shown in the picture.  I stamped ‘Thinking of you’ onto a ready made tag.  The image was adhered to the card front and then the flourish and other finishing touches added ie paper flowers, tag and brad.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Until next time,

Kristy
