Clean and Simple Butterfly Cards

Hi Everyone,

I had this beautiful SEI piece of paper with these bright butterflies that were perfect for fussy cutting.  I have been wanting to make a set of really clean and simple cards using a white colour scheme, with a pop of colour so these butterflies were exactly the kind of thing I wanted.  You can curl the wings of the butterflies to add dimension to the card.  You could easily change up this card set by using a different bright element, like kites or cupcakes or anything really.  I used a bunch of different embossing folders to give the white card stock some texture and create some visual interest so the cards didn’t look too boring.  I also used the sentiments from the Hero Arts Set – Essential messages as it has  now great messages and the typeset is really simple but striking so tied in with the look I was trying to create.  It is important to stamp before you emboss the card, if you want to get a really crisp image.  I actually created a set of these cards (although I am only showing 2 here) for a class for Stef, which also incorporated embossing the envelopes to match, making a matching tag and tying them together with ribbon so give away as a gift.  A great idea to get a head start on the Christmas gifts.  Let me know if you make any as I would love to see your pics.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Kristy

Supplies: White card, Archival Ink – Jet Black, SEI – Field notes butterfly paper 12x 12, Assorted Sizzix embossing folders, foam adhesive.

  1. Kristy, these cards are beautiful. You really captured the clean and simple look which is much harder than it looks.
