Tea Thyme – Thinking of You Card

Hi everyone,

Today’s card features the gorgeous new Tea Thyme Collection by Prima.  It is pretty and soft with gorgeous vintage patterns.  I have given the card a bit of shabby chic style and this is a little outside my comfort zone, although I love what other people make in this style.  I think I will have to just keep experimenting.  I have used one of the pieces from the Journaling/Notecard set and made this the main panel of my card.  The sentiment was stamped using jet black archival ink.  The edges of all the paper pieces and the card base have been inked with Hero Arts Snow Chalk Ink to give everything a soft look.  I misted some Calico Shine over the note card, being careful not to cover too much of the sentiment.  I cut a slit on both sides of the journaling card on the inside of the printed frame and then threaded the seam binding through.  A bow and  a prima flower finished up the top section of the card a resin fairy from the Prima Shabby Chic Treasures balanced out the flower on the lower corner.  The lace behind the notecard just adds a little more detail without overwhelming the card.

Hope you have a good weekend.  Mine is going to be filled with birthday party madness (we are having my middle son’s birthday party in our backyard on the weekend).

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Kristy, what a beautiful card. I would have never guest that shabby chic was not your natural style. But then again, I’m all over the map with my card making. I’m not sure I have a style. I’m not sure what that says about us. How can you not love that beautiful paper and want to do something with it.
