My Layout from Finnabair’s class

Hi everyone

I mentioned that I had been to a class with Finnabair last week and that I would share the layout I made.  She did say this was ok (for people to share their layouts on their blogs) but obviously it would not be ok for me to share her techniques since they are probably what you would call her creative property.  If you want to know more about her techniques you can check out her blog and I think she mentioned that she may do some online classes in the future so you could keep an eye out for that too.

It was a fun few hours where I got to play with some products and make something that isn’t really ‘my’ style.  However this layout is my work because we followed some general design principles, she showed us the techniques, you could look at her work but it wasn’t the kind of class where you made something exactly the same as the class sample.  I like that though and I still feel I learnt heaps and obviously would not have been able to make the layout without her teaching.  Each person was able to cut their papers according to what would suit their photos and arranged things as they liked.  The layouts that people made were similar in some ways because they shared the core techniques/similar products but were totally unique too.  It was really great to see what other people created.

If you would like to see Finnabair’s work, check out her blog and you can also see it on the Prima blog as she is part of Prima’s Design Team.  Lots of the products used in the layout were from Finnabair’s collection with Prima called Sunrise Sunset and her Vintage Mechanicals embellishments which are due to be released in Australia very very soon.  The neutral backgrounds on the papers are great starting place for people to make their own backgrounds and the flip side of most of the papers has a brighter/more arty background already done for you.

Thanks for stopping by,

Kristy
