I had a great time teaching at the weekend workshop but came home feeling pretty tired, with a mountain of washing to do and lots of pretty papers, stencils, inks etc to put away. I am getting on top of the house stuff now and looking forward to getting back into creating something new, but for today I wanted to share an idea that I really like that comes from one of my favourite photography blogs. I have mentioned Karen Russell before and how much I learnt when I took her online course “The Photographer’s Workshop” but she also has a blog where she shares regular life stuff and her photographs.
She gives her children a couple of ‘Get Out of Jail Free’ cards each Christmas and I love this idea. I have to confess I haven’t used them yet as I think they will work better for kids a bit older than mine. I am definitely planning to use them when my kids are teenagers (which is a while away yet) and hope that if they have a get out of jail free card they will be honest with me if they have done something perhaps they shouldn’t have 🙂 Here’s hoping anyhow. If you are interested in the idea, she has made some templates that you can download here.
I will be back on Friday with a new project to share. Thanks for stopping by!
