Scrapbooking Travel Preparations

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing a layout I made for Get It Scrapped about Scrapbooking Travel Preparation (you can see other travel preparation layouts and tips here).  For my layout I chose to focus on the list of items that we take when we go away.  We have to check the list to make sure we don’t forget things.  At the moment our children are relatively young so we take  quite a lot of stuff with us and I am sure the things we pack will change as they get older.  Some of the items we pack are their favourite things too and I am sure that will also change as they get older.

Pockets are a fun item to include on the page and there are lots of manufacturers that have envelopes or pockets that match their papers but for my layout I decided to make my own.  I had photographed the kid’s suitcases in our hallway (which is where we put things to be pack into the car) and took the colours from my photo to create my own text vellum.  We keep our list on the computer so it was pretty easy for me to paste the text into a word document, alter the font, add the colours and repeat the pattern.  I die cut the pocket using the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Pocket die and just slipped a printed copy of our list inside the pocket.

I have kept my layout in a loose grid style, layering patterned papers, stickers and embellishments to keep things interesting.  A few splatters and some sequins add a bit of fun to the layout and help guide the eye across the page.

My kids are home for school holidays at the moment and so I am having a bit of a blog break for a couple of weeks but will be posting my creative team projects for Get It Scrapped still.

Thanks for stopping by,

Kristy
