Chalkboard is a popular trend in scrapbooking at the moment. I created a chalkboard background for my page by swiping black soot distress paint across my white cardstock and left it to dry. When the paint is dry you can write over it using chalk and if you make a mistake you can lightly wipe it off with a baby wipe. I didn’t worry about setting my chalk since I didn’t think it would smudge inside a page protector but you could do this. There are lots more ideas for using chalkboard, techniques and tips at the Get It Scrapped Blog.
I wanted the layout to have some bright fun colours so I created matching embellishments using other colours of distress paint, some Heidi Swapp banners, Heidi Swapp Stencils, some washi tapes and some colourful stickers.
