Hi Everyone,
Today’s layout was created for the Get It Scrapped article about creating layouts inspired by storybooks. For my layout I was inspired by the Eric Carle book ‘The Very Hugry Caterpillar’. It is a favourite of mine and has become a favourite of our children too. I chose to create a layout about some of the things that are part of the bedtime routine for the kids each night.
I kept things really simple and part of me really wanted to embellish the layout further but I decided to keep lots of white space as that is one of the features of the layout of the book. I used a grid as it reminds me of the idea of looking into our home through a window and seeing what is happening. I created a night sky square by painting blue paint onto some card and leaving the paint strokes obvious. I repeated the process with yellow paint and once it was dry I hand cut the stars.
I kept the font similar to the font used in the book and added the journalling using some small letter stickers. There are a bunch of other ideas over on the Get It Scrapped blog.
Thanks for stopping by,
Kristy
