Designing with Circles for Get It Scrapped

Hi everyone,

I am squeezing in a couple of posts sharing some scrapbook layouts created for Get It Scrapped in the next couple of days.  This first double page layout was created for the topic – Ideas for Designing with Circles.  You can see the pages of the rest of the creative team over on the Get It Scrapped Blog here.

For my page I took inspiration from one of Debbie Hodge’s pinterest pages here  and created this layout with colourful circle frames around my photographs.  I chose to highlight some of the things that we do together as a family and converted the photographs to black and white.  I cut the circles out using my cricut expression and gypsy to create the design.  I then used gelatos around the edges (but you could use watercolour crayons for this technique also)  I used additional die cut circles that I loosely outlined with a black pen and arranged them to create a flow around my page.  I kept the embellishments pretty simple on this page and draw a frame around the layout using a craft nib and black paint.  If you have any questions just leave me a comment and I will be sure to reply.

I’ll be back tomorrow with  Pastel Christmas Layout.

Hope you are enjoying your December and thanks for stopping by.

Paper Doll Ornaments

Hi everyone,

Well my December has busy as I am sure that yours has been too.  I had this idea that I would be totally up to date with everything, have all my shopping done, all the house jobs done so that I could just sail casually through December.  However as usual things are not always as planned but I think that is part of life, particularly in the lead up to Christmas.

This week I went and did a craft activity with my daughters class in school.  I used the Julie Nutting Doll stencil from Prima and modified things and also created my own templates to create these paper dolls.  I used my cricut to cut out the wings for the angel. I photographed them before I punched a small hole in the top and threaded some string to make them into ornaments for the tree.  The kids had fun with the activity too.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope your December isn’t too crazy.  I’ll be back next week with a couple of layouts for Get It Scrapped.
