I have been a bit absent lately with all the Christmas busy-ness and some time on holidays. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and holiday season. We spent time going to the beach, swimming in the pool and just general summertime activities.
I have a few posts to catch up for Get It Scrapped and I was going to put them all together but decided it would probably make things too long. So here is the first of my catch up posts. This layout was created for the Get It Scrapped blog article showing different ideas for scrapbooking with numbers. The page is about my 3 year old asking me multiple times how long it was going to be until Christmas. I could imagine this becoming a bit tiresome but in the end he didn’t ask as much as I thought he would. I love how excited children tend to be about Christmas.
For my page I used papers and embellishments by Simple Stories. I wanted to include all the numbers counting down to Christmas on the page so I chose the background patterned paper and toned it down a little with a couple of coats of picket fence distress stain. When the paper was dry I inked the edges with black soot distress ink and also mounted onto some black card as the distress stain can warp the paper a bit but is fine when adhered to card.
I also incorporated numbers in my page through the title which I highlighted by using a large number and colouring it gold with a gold paint pen. It dries quickly and does a good job of covering the number. I also used a number strip to provide a shelf for my photo and other elements to ‘sit’ upon.
If you have any questions just let me know and be sure to check out the Get It Scrapped blog post with loads of ideas for incorporating numbers into your pages.
