I created this layout about my husband taking our daughter out to a piano recital. She loves the opportunity to spend time with each of us by herself and this beautiful heart shaped bokeh paper by Maggie Holmes helps create the mood for my page. I kept things pretty simple with this page as I wanted everything in the centre so that it was surrounded by the hearts. I took colour inspiration from the paper and also from the colours in my photo. The tights that my daughter is wearing are pink and also have hearts on them. I used some of my embellishments to break the borders of my block design and make things a bit more interesting. I also asked my daughter to type out her description of the night so that I could record her voice on this layout.
The flower was created using tissue paper and Tim Holtz’s tattered flowers die, with maybe some distress ink, calico shine or glimmer mist over the top (to be honest I made it a while ago so I don’t remember exactly what products I used).
Be sure to stop over at the Get It Scrapped blog for a bunch of other ideas about using bokeh papers on your pages, including some ideas for how you can create your own.
