The first of December is fast approaching and my youngest boy is old enough now to have an Advent Calendar. I love the Handmade Holiday Collection by Simple Stories and so I decided to make his calendar using some of the patterned papers from the collection pack. I painted the wood with a snow cap paint dabber to give it a bit of a ‘whitewashed’ look and used Rock Candy Dry Glitter on the patterned part of the house. The boxes were cut out using my Cricut Expression and the Tags, Bags Boxes and more cartridge. The number stickers that came with the collection were not quite the right fit for the boxes in this house so I used some from the Kaisercraft Turtledove Collection – Numbers Sticker Sheet as they matched pretty well and will be easy for him to read as he gets older. If you look closely you will see that there is a couple of bits missing from the chimney section – I tidied up my table yesterday and have put them away somewhere ! When I find them it will be pretty easy to just add them on.
If you are interested in seeing the other advent calendars I have made you can click on the category on the side bar and it will bring up the other 3 I have made.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Twiddlebitz Advent Calendar decorated with the Handmade Holiday Collection by Simple Stories
Here is the last of the twiddleybitz advent calendar houses that I will be posting for the moment! This one is for my middle boy and is made from the Bo Bunny Blitzen Collection which is just gorgeous. It seems to be a really nice collection for general scrapping and is one you could certainly use for the boys and the men in your family. The method is very similar to the MME Advent Calendar house that I made for my daughter. You can scroll down to see the other two.
If you have any questions please leave me a comment and I will be sure to reply.

Here is the picture of the advent house that I have made for my daughter . I had painted it a couple of years ago and had made boxes with other patterned paper but I hadn’t managed to finish decorating it, so I decided to start again with different pattern paper. I absolutely love this ’12 days of Christmas’ paper from My Minds Eye. The bright colours were just great for matching with what I had already done. I coloured the numbers with copic markers to match the papers (YG23, BG23, YG67, R35 and R85). I have written detailed instructions for how I completed the other advent calendar house, so just scroll down to that post if you want more details. This is a post from my old blog – I wanted to rephotograph this one (I can’t rephotograph the other 2 though as my son coloured on the boxes of his!!) and wanted to post the 3 advent calendars in a row. If you have questions, specifically about this project, leave me a comment and I will reply.
