This is the last of my catch up posts for Get It Scrapped and then I am all up to date. I have been busy making a few cards so will have some cards to share. It has been mostly scrapbook pages over here lately! For this layout I chose to show off some cute photos of my youngest boy sleeping. He is at the age where he doesn’t sleep that much during the day anymore but on this day he fell asleep with his head on the table as he was eating his lunch so I carefully moved him to the couch where it was more comfortable and took some photos. I know he won’t always be this small.
The colour combination of the the pastel blues/greens remind me of little boys and softness. The brighter green is also a colour I associate with boys and I feel is a more energetic colour. These colours together are a good representation of him right now. I chose to make the pastel colours the predominate colour in the page as they fitted better with the photos and I just used a bit of the brighter green so it didn’t take over everything else. I also used the colour to create a visual triangle.
I used the brick template and a couple of mists to create the background. When this had dried I used a paint dabber and the star stencil to create another layer. I then used a gelato with the checker stencil to add another layer on my page. The washi tape created a border and keep the eye looking at the main elements of my page – the journalling, photos and title. A scattering of stars adds a little bit of whimsy and a bit of a trail across the page. If you want more ideas for using pastel colours and fluorescent colours together you can check out the Get It Scrapped article over on the blog here. If you are new to the idea of scrapbooking Debbie has a great article to give you some ideas of where to get started.
As always, if you have any questions just leave me a comment. Thanks for stopping by,
